To easily achieve a perfect fit, Hurtta suggests the following with regard to measuring your dog:
The Back Length:
Measure your dog from his withers (not his collar) to the base of his tail, while he is standing in normal position. The withers is the ridge between your dog's shoulder blades, i.e., the tallest point of his body.
The Neckline Measurement:
Measure from the base of your dog's neck, i.e., the widest point of his neck. Please note that the neckline of an overall can be larger than the circumference of his neck, as it can be adjusted to fit a smaller neck.
The Chest Measurement:
The chest measurement should be taken at the widest point of your dog's chest, from behind his front legs. To allow for freedom of movement, the chest of an overall must be wider than the dog's chest.
