Back in 2005, the designers at OllyDog began to design top quality accessories for dogs owned by outdoor enthusiasts. The products they designed were durable, functional, and smart, and perfect for a day in the wilderness. Fast forward a few years to 2018, when Sherpani, an industry leader in sustainable bags for women, acquired the company, with the intention of making OllyDog the first pet brand to showcase products made from recycled and repurposed materials. Ultimately, Sherpani applied its Blue Verve principals to the OllyDog line. The Blue Verve Initiative was founded in 2009 when Sherpani's owners were shocked at the amount of plastic that was showing up on the world's uninhabited beaches. By Spring of 2019, the company had converted all of OllyDog's sewn products to PET recycled yarns, and by 2020, all the webbing used in collars and leashes was made from recycled nylon. The company continues to come up with innovative ideas that are good for our planet, as they endeavor to keep scrap nylon threads out of landfills.
