Meet C.L.A.W.S. Outstanding Volunteer, Adriana Meucci!
Recently we introduced you to Claws Animal Welfare Society, better known as C.L.A.W.S. Since we are great supporters of animal rescue initiatives, we like to shine a spotlight on the organizations that make those initiatives possible. We know that these organizations rely heavily on volunteers so we take great pleasure in introducing you to Adriana Meucci, one of the volunteers who makes the work that C.L.A.W.S. does possible. If it weren't for people like Adriana, there would be so many more suffering animals out there today.
C.L.A.W.S. recently presented Adriana with an "Outstanding Volunteer" commendation. Just like so many other volunteers, Adriana devotes a considerable amount of her time to the programs and initiatives set out by the organization. Through her hard work and persistence, she has received considerable attention for C.L.A.W.S. via local media. Recently, she appeared as a guest on local television show, "The Pet Stop", where she talked about the work C.L.A.W.S. does and introduced viewers to some of the dogs and cats in need of loving homes.
While Adriana spends her time at C.L.A.W.S. working on all aspects of the programs they offer, her main focus is making every penny that they have available count. She works tirelessly on finding and talking to prospective sponsors and procuring donations in support of fund raising efforts, as well as seeking discounts on basic requirements such as pet medicines and food. She also spends time cultivating ways in which to raise awareness of the organization's mission. Adriana is quick to point out that there are so many other volunteers out there doing just as much as she does and that it is great to be around other concerned, caring animal lovers from whom she has learned so much.Adriana is particularly fond of a couple of unique programs that C.L.A.W.S. offers - The Pet Food Pantry which the organization established to ensure that no pet goes hungry and the "Meals on Wheels" program which helps the elderly feed their pets and generally keep them healthy.
Adriana's "Outstanding Volunteer" award is well deserved...even though she's been through some daunting hardships in her own life, she refuses to let them get in the way of helping rescues as much as she possibly can. In a recent interview she stated..."I do this because I love animals, and so many of them are in great need." C.L.A.W.S. is very proud to have Adriana on their side when it comes to rescuing and helping animals. She has the ability to think out of the box and is able to generate the extra attention that is so desperately needed to promote the organization's animal welfare causes.
We know that so many people appreciate Adriana's efforts and the results she has been able to achieve in devoting herself to creating a safe haven for animals that have been abandoned, neglected or abused.
Volunteers make such a difference for so many rescues. If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer at C.L.A.W.S., see how you could get involved here or contact your local shelter.
Adriana Meucci is an animal advocate and has a variety of goals to help our furry friends. "I am very interested in changing laws, especially involving animal cruelty, to reflect harsher punishments for animal abuses," Adriana told us...."I am eager to assist in getting a "Don't Adopt" database so that all Animal Rescues are able to have the names of animal abusers at their fingertips. Moreover, I wish to help get new pet beds into all shelters so that dogs and cats do not have to lie on hard concrete floors. This is especially hard on senior animals, who desperately need orthopedic bedding."
